how my 2011 ended and how 2012 kicked off

That. That...came to an end just three weeks ago and now it's January 2012!

Somewhere around the last two weeks of December was when my cousin sister, from my mother's side of the family, got married! I don't quite know her newlywed husband well but from what I heard, they've been together for a very long time now. They're now both in their mid twenties and were dating since high school, around 14 years old. Yup, probably more than a decade! I wish the very best for the both of them and may they make beautiful kids <3

The boys, during the mini buffet dinner at grandma's a day before the actual wedding day. From left is my brother, Julian and the rest are my cousins, Wai Kuen, Wai Hon, Bryan and Jaden.

The next day was the actual wedding day, where yes....the actual Chinese wedding ceremonies are held. The wedding procession (is a looong one) consists of several Chinese traditional rituals and procedures. The procession starts with the arrival of the groom and his friends at the bride's house, which is then followed by a list of 'wedding door' games conducted by the bridesmaids for the groom and his friends. Yup, the picture above shows one of the games played where the boys had to dance and sing while wearing some hula skirts!

After the wedding door games are done, the groom gets to enter the house to see the bride. And hence, begins the tea ceremony.

The wedding banquet was held on the 25th December, yes...Christmas. The banquet, of all parts of a Chinese wedding, is one of my favourite part! Why? I guess it's because we get to dress up all nice and fancy :D it's sort of a once in a blue moon occasion now. I remember attending weddings at least a few times a year back then, but now...ah well. Oh and the Chinese food, most of the times there'd be really good, mouth-watering Chinese delicacies at wedding banquets. Ah, the joy.

With my cousin, Jaden. He is simply the most adorable one, and not to mention, a witty young boy (: He asked me for some help in Math the other day and I was teaching him how to round off numbers. He managed to understand it and get all the answers right within minutes.

Fireworks! So on the last day of 2011, it seemed like loads of people were out celebrating and joining the countdown! Nah didn't have any extravagant plans nor any plans at all initially... But then change of plans were made? and hence, Sabrina and I had a nice dinner at The Aparments, KLCC. Other restaurants were mostly fully reserved and by the time we were done with dinner, which was close to 10p.m., that water fountain area outside the mall was flooded with a huge crowd of people. But anyway, the food at The Aparments was sorta pricey :/, but it was still a satisfying meal! (:

We then headed back home just in time to watch the fireworks. Watching fireworks every single time would remind me of the one in Hong Kong Disneyland, one of the best fireworks to watch! A trip to Malacca with Hui Fern! Definitely a memorable trip and a great way to kick off the new year! Well Hui Fern's parents were actually having a work conference at Malacca and the both of us just tagged along. God bless her parents and god bless her for asking me to join the trip! We stayed at the Equatorial Hotel for three nights and it was a good thing that several places were just within walking distance from the hotel. Several places like...the malls! (yes, shopping there was good! Managed to get some stuff from Jonker Street! *look at picture above! :D) Some historical places and umm, tourist attractions too. Oh and food, yeeeaaaahh the food was great! Ok hands down the best ones we've had there would probably be...hmm okayy I gotta say..... the cendol at the Jonker 88, crepe cakes at Nadeje, fried ice cream and fried oyster (both from Jonker Street). Really reallyyyy good stuff! And honestly I enjoyed myself during this trip and being there with my bestie just sums up AWESOME :D

Also, I got to meet up with some friends during the past few weeks. The ones in the picture above are Roseanna and Heizen, both are my good friends from primary school! (:

With Jade and Jiaxin at Pavillion after dropping by at ARGS for a visit! Ah going back to school... truth be told, I sorta miss schooling life. The people from school as well :')

I managed to get rid of all my SPM books, at last! Some were sold and some given away to juniors of mine, while the rest are now in the school library. Also, I gave away my school uniforms to two juniors. Ah the baju kurung days... :')

So what's next? Chinese New Year! In fact it's the day after tomorrow... Well then, I wish everyone a great week, Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Holidays! :D

Lunch with classmates from 5 Anggerik and teachers (Cik Aishah and Cik Izwani [soon-to-be Puan Izwani!]) at Fullhouse, Wangsa Walk. Lunch was good! Despite the fact that not everyone was able to make it today, it was still nice seeing some familiar faces again after weeks since the end of SPM. And yesssss we should do this again some other time! :D

and after lunch, we went for a little karaoke session, hahah. 2 hours of karaoke and I gotta say, Nabiha, Weyyin and Voon Yin can really sing :D

My previous blog update was on July 16th. Wow. It felt like it was just a few weeks ago. It's already September! Well, we recently had our SPM trials examination, and my last paper was today. &yeah, yeah, everyone's saying SPM's coming soon! Real soon! Yup, in fact, there's approximately 50 more days till SPM (Sudah Pasti Mati? nahh, Score Paling Maximum!).

Okay, here's a quick update on what's been happening recently. And by recently I meant the past few months. Loads of photos coming ahead! (:

School trip to Petrosains, KLCC. Yeah, which is just a few miles away from our school but the trip was alright, considering most of us hadn't really been there before.

Awwh, this boy is just adorable! I think he's Korean. I'm not really into Korean, but this one's an exception, haha :D

ARGS Interact Club's Board of Directors of term 2010/2011. I'm definitely going to miss this!

Oh and we had our informal installation, too. It has always been a tradition for the Interact Club in our school to have surprises for the next Board of Directors during installation. Yupp, surprises (; It was supposedly surprises for only the juniors, but like we all saw it coming, everyone would get all excited and, there you go. The photo will probably explain what kind of surprises we had this time... :D

Ah the joy of being retired. Okay I was kidding there, well yeah I do feel relieved once I've passed down my post to the new President. Simply because it's just time - time to install the new board, to let go of certain things, and to focus on other priorities. I believe the new board will do well, and I really hope they do. Being a part of the Interact Club was one big part of my secondary school life and I gotta say, I've learned loads from being in the club itself and holding positions in the board. It was absolutely a great experience, definitely significant and something I'd remember for days to come.

So some of you might know that my sister's been shipped off to the USA ! It's been around a month now since she left home, of course we all miss her very much. All the lonely nights here :'( Guess what, Jo. Dad said he doesn't want to go to the airport again! It's a bloody depressing place eh.

She's homesick but, I'm sure she's happy there, living her dream! The USA! Woot. And no worries, we'll keep you updated on everything that happens around here, that's one of the reasons why I'm updating my blog, haha.

Just an ordinary day at home. Cousins stayed around for the weekend.

He's hooked on the guitar. Parents recently got him a new guitar, for his birthday gift in advance. And yup, it's his new hobby now. Strumming on the guitar, all day, and all night.

Independence Day celebration at school.

Credits to Rooba :D Yeah I'll be missing this, too, being a part of Editorial Board (: which has been fantastic. It's now September and you could say 90% of the work, for the annual school magazine, has been completed. Loads of work but it all came down to one thing, getting it done. I'd say we did a pretty damn good job :D

Once again, credits goes to Rooba (: I just love the colours on our Malaysian flag, so bright and radiant. We had some Merdeka sessions where students were waving the flags up high and singing out loud!

You gotta love macaroni :D

The jamuan Hari Raya turned out well, I just wished there was a wider variety of food and snacks. But all in all it was a great way to take a day off and to celebrate the festive season in school. Could we have this again? before secondary school life ends? :/

Well, that's about it for now. The next blog update would probably be...not anytime soon...might be after my SPM examination...yeaah, time to get serious! And speaking of, gotta get back to that - studying!

oh boy it's March already! Time flies quicker day by day. Things are getting quite busy at school and with school stuff. However...life has gotta move on. It's not easy some times, but lately I'm feeling grateful for having friends and people around me that I can count on. People that make my day and put a smile on my face, god bless them all cause sometimes we all need a little joy in our everyday lives. Even in the worst situations, the best thing to do I believe is to smile and say All is Well (and then of course, find a way to solve the problem calmly) because everything will be well, sooner or later. I gotta say, 2010 was definitely a good year despite a few...well, not-so-good things. The very memorable and significant events of the year would probably be BRATs at Kuantan, DIC at Seremban and AGC Youth Camp at Bentong. Not to mention, I've had just the best moments spent with family and friends. Well of course there's simply too many to list them all out. I've learned loads, about a lot of things from experiences, be they good or bad. I'm glad to have met quite a number of new people and also got to know a few (awesome) people better. So yes 2010 was a good year! :D

The 42nd District Interact Conference was held from the 3rd to 5th December 2010 at the Royale Bintang Resort, Seremban. It was nice getting to know new people from other clubs (even from other states!) and the three of us (Aaliyah, Euxuan and I) have definitely learnt a lot from this conference. It was truly a great experience. One we will remember for days to come.

Today I went to Pavillion to watch THIS

I initially wasn't really planning on watching this movie but now that I have, I'd have to honestly say that this was one of the best animated Disney movies I've seen. And currently my personal favourite. This movie really got me, it was both entertaining and heartwarming. Truly an enchanting mix of adventure, romance and humor. Thumbs up! (Y)

So, it was something different - today's event, the jamuan raya and the fact that we got to wear traditional attire to school. I truly thought it was a brilliant idea to inculcate the '1 Malaysia' spirit, to encourage cultural expose and in a way, it promotes peace and international understanding. And being us girls (well most girls), we enjoy dressing up and that explains all the bright, radiant clothing! Definitely looking forward to another event like this one.

So, this is me and oh hold on, what's that thinggg
It's a frog, yes those are its organs.

My class had to disect frogs on Wednesday and Thursday for a Biology experiment based on Chapter 7 : Respiration. The others thought it was fun and exciting but to me, it was sort of uh, gross. The sight of a frog's internal organs (now this was something new) was slightly repulsive and just, well, you know. I'm sure you can tell by the photos I've compiled. Well what an experience it was.

If there's one main thing I've learned from this workshop, it is that journalism is definitely not my thing, haha. Nonetheless, I've learned a lot. What made it awesome was the experience and the fun we all had together.

Basically, we had talks on photography, videography, social media, writing etc etc and two field assignments which were a visit to the salted fish factory and to a surf school. The salted fish factory - oh god, the blood, the smell, it was reallyyy bad :/ oh and we got to meet Malaysia' top surfer! Pretty cool huh.

The games were all fun and exciting. I was glad to have met some awesome people there :D I think I'm really gonna miss BRATs.

Today, my classmates and I were cleaning and tidying up our class, especially the cupboards at the back of our class. And you will never guess what we found in one of the cupboard.

KITTENS.

Yup, about three or four. It was really, really shocking and at that time, the first few thoughts that immediately popped into my mind were
1) What is that???!
2) What are they doing in there and how did they get in?
3) How long have they been in there? without food, milk, insufficient space and air

so I kind of screamed. Also cause I'm not a fan of cats or anything like it, but... we should really get those kittens out of the cupboard, it's definitely not where they belong. I really wondered how on earth did those kittens get in there. Discovering this was almost mysterious and an eerie experience. Yup, strange...and unusual, very.

Hui Fern and Sabby came over to my house and we got to spend some time together. Watched a bit of Valentine's Day (Sabby slept halfway, lol), played Monopoly for a while, chit chat and gossiped a lot, haha. Sab had to leave in the evening, after that Fern and I had pizzas for dinner. After dinner that's when the stalking facebook profiles started lol

I was actually at Wangsa Walk Mall cause one of my friend, Loh Yea Yee, from my primary school, invited me to celebrate her birthday there. They went bowling and watched Prince of Persia, so, I was mostly hanging out with Heizen ;) we had lunch at TGI Fridays. Our lunch was simply mouth-watering, I wanted more of the Mac and Cheese! anyway, I got to meet Lale, Niva and Audrey, too.

Two weeks of HOLIDAYS yipeee

so far I have made plans to hang out with some friends and a family vacation. I want to complete watching Chuck Season 3 and Glee :D and read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. and not forgetting, do some studying and catch up on my syllabus. aah, my mid-term examination ended last two weeks and my results were not so satisfying. In other words, it was not so good.

Haven't been blogging much due to exams, IU and the fact that uploading photos on blogger takes a pretty long time.

TOKIO HOTEL AUTOGRAPH SESSION AND CONCERT

I don't have their album so I just accompanied some friends there for the autograph session. Fans went crazy when Tokio Hotel arrived at the scene, fans including our friend Weyyin. She's a HUGE fan of Tokio Hotel.

After the autograph session, we went to get some lunch and then headed to Central Park Avenue, where the concert was. There were already people waiting outside the gates since morning, now these were real hardcore fans.

So, Tokio Hotel wasn't all bad, but I'm still not a fan, I just like a few of their songs. Going to concerts can be exhausting, especially the long hours of waiting while standing, and when you're starving, legs tired, perspiring a lot due to the hot weather, everyone around stinks of sweat, short of breath, getting squished in the jam-packed crowd. Ah well, what to expect, free concerts x)

After the ceremony, we headed to KLCC to meet up with Shoba (Roba's nick name now), who needed some help with her laptop and to have lunch. I had McD and I regretted it :[ Been having fast food quite often these few weeks.
